Sally F. Smith, LPN Exec Board, President
Founder and President of Seniors Have Dreams Too, Inc., Sally has been in geriatric nursing for over 40 years. She is a level 4 Healing Touch Practitioner, received her Associates Degree in Human Services from Middlesex Community Collage, Middletown, CT and was on the board at Yale for End of Life Issues; in addition, she has held multiple positions in skilled nursing facilities. After making a resident’s dream of having her own art show come true, Sally decided to continue her efforts of granting wishes by forming Seniors Have Dreams Too, Inc. She was the creator of “Hug a Senior Day” for the State of Connecticut as proclaimed by Governor Jodi Rell in 2010. She lives by her motto; “That no matter the age or condition, one should always have something to look forward to that will put a smile on their face.”
Betty Berger Exec Board, V. President
Co-founder of Seniors Have Dreams Too, Inc., Betty received her Associates Degree in General Studies with a high concentration in Human Services & Psychology from Middlesex Community Collage, Middletown, CT and works at an assisted living in Hamden, Ct. Betty thrives on her volunteer work. She is an advocate for cancer patients with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, tirelessly raising awareness in both Hartford and Washington D.C. She previously served as the Event Chair for the Relay For Life of Meriden/Wallingford and has been a Team Captain for the Relay For life of Meriden/Wallingford for 21 years, as well as the recipient The Connecticut Treasures Award in 2001 for her work as the founder/director of Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation Support Group of CT and The American Cancer Society’s Susan B. Labaree Volunteer Values Award in 2008.
Phyllis Leonard Exec Board, Secretary
Phyllis Leonard is retired from the corporate world and brings her managerial leadership and administrative talents to our organization. She has previously served on the Executive Board for the Professional Women of AT&T, Secretary for The Meriden Charity Club, and has also served as Event Chairperson of Relay For Life of Meriden/Wallingford in CT.
Roxanne Magnolia Exec Board, Publicity
Roxanne Magnolia Lagana has over 15 years in senior care. She studied Human Services and Psychology at Middlesex Community College and is the Director of Admissions and Marketing at a skilled nursing facility. Roxanne is a wonderful asset to our team and a terrific resource for senior needs having worked in Assisted Living and Home Health, in addition to having had her own consulting business. She is always positive and looking for ways to enhance the quality of seniors lives.
